To whom it may concern,

I am writing to express my feelings about Jay DeMay and Hoof Beats Equestrian Center.

I have a 16 year old daughter, named Taylor, who has been involved with Hoof Beats for the last year or so. She has grown in so many ways because she was given opportunities she would otherwise not have had. Because Jay believed in her and saw her potential, he sponsored her in Little Britches Rodeos and several events, so that she could begin what she believes will be her biggest accomplishment in life. She wants to be a professional Barrel Racer. Taylor has also been able to mentor a young lady who was scared to death, at first, to be around horses, and was able to help her grow in other areas as well.

She and I have little money. Taylor has been able to work and support her horses herself. I have been unable to afford a truck and trailer to take her to these events myself. Jay and his wonderful wife, Dianna, have stepped up and come to our aid, in many of our circumstances, as well as the Rodeos. Jay's delight in helping young people as well as adults, see possibilities they could only dream of, and helping them (us) get there is something I will be forever grateful for. They have helped make my daughter who she is today. She and I love the DeMays dearly and pray they are able to continue helping young people and their families for many years to come.

Thank you,

Stefanie DeVellis

Hoof Beats, and Jay and his family, have been a huge blessing! My daughter and I visit weekly; she working on her horsemanship skills and knowledge, and I learning from the ground up how to build a relationship of trust with Chance, a rescued horse that had never been handled. Micala is quickly gaining confidence and building her self esteem to the capacities we have always known she was capable of attaining! She is blossoming into a wonderful young lady and finally excited about something. I love working with Chance, as it gives me a couple hours a week forgetting about MY issues and focusing on the needs of another. It is also teaching me about how to have a relationship, with ALL beings, by working with him! Jay and his family love and accept my daughter, husband, and me without question, no matter what. All is well when we "escape" up to Hoof Beats!!

Hoof Beats

My experience at Hoof Beats is one that I will never forget. The people I hung out with are friends that I will always have regardless of any situation. Jay DeMay (Pop) was like the father I’ve never had. Living without a father can be hard at certain times, but Pop always made me feel like one of his own. I never felt excluded from anything, because he took the time to show me what it feels like to be a daddy’s girl. The horses at Hoof Beats are wonderful. Some came and went quickly but they still had a impact on people and the lives they led without saying a word to them.. Hoof Beats wouldn’t be an organized place without Mrs. DeMay (Dianna), she is the brain power of Hoof Beats, and a wonderful woman who has gone through much tougher times than a lot of us. Which makes me realize, that if she can make it…so can I. Hoof Beats will always have a portion of my heart. I am forever thankful for everyone’s help in my life.

With Love,

Taylor Balzano :]
